Disassembly Day. It's here! Breakfast was at 6:30 AM with about 20 members present. Then, it was off to the shop where we unloaded the Pay It Forward Mustang. After picture taking, we held a meeting to discuss our sponsors and make team assignments.

There are teams for front suspension, rear suspension, doors, interior and more. There is a bag and tag to properly store and label all of the parts, pieces, nuts and bolts. Then the fun began. The calls for tools, an extra hand, air rachets, and saws fill the air.

Throughout the morning, many pictures are being taken and the whole process is being videoed for a documentary film.

Team work, laughter, and experience come together. The process moves very rapidly and efficiently. There are 25 Mustangs of East Texas members going strong.

CBS 19, a local TV station came by to do a story on the Pay it Forward project and the beneficiary, the East Texas Crisis Center.

Paul Scott giving a tug on the steering column while Jerry Christopherson holds the other end.
It was stuck to the steering box and needed persuasion to turn loose. .

Below is a shot of the dash after all of the parts have been removed.

After 2 1/2 hours, the unibody is on the rotisserie and is ready to go Monday morning to the media blaster.

Lunch break was catered by John "Chef Boy R they Good" Pritchard and Robert "Cook 'em fast and sell 'um" Owens. Lana Peacock, Director of the East Texas Crisis Center brought her famous Ranger Cookies. Thanks to all for their hard work.

After lunch... its a contest, old school versus new technology. Both quarter panels will be replaced, so we removed them using a plasma cutter on one side and an air chisel on the other. It was no contest, the old school method was more than three times as fast. We all had fun cheering the guys on.

Thanks to Scott Drake, the Mustang Club of America and all of our sponsors. More to follow...
