On June 17, Eddie Siler painted and dyed the interior parts including the door panels, kick panels, sun visors, seat hinge covers and the interior quarter panels to insure a match to the leather upholstery supplied by Distinctive Industries.

June 18, 2009. The first of the red PPG waterbourne paint is applied to the fenders, headlight buckets and doors, the front and rear valance and the grill support. The waterborne paint system is unusual since it is dried with moving air and not heat. After application of the clear coat, then the parts are baked at 150 degrees for about 20 minutes. The surface is then hard and ready for color sanding and buffing. .

Applying Clear Coat

Spraying the inside of the doors.

Doors Complete!

Dash is Painted, too.

COLOR!!! Fenders, Headlight Buckets and Doors, valances.

These parts are extremely shiny! Are they Red or what?

The fenders are straight and true. Wait until they are buffed!

Perez Simmons color sands the passenger side fender while...

Stephen Sandvig buffs the driver side fender to make it extra slick.

The doors, deck lid and hood have already been buffed. All that is left to paint is the body.

Stephen and Perez are tough guys. It was 97 degrees when these photos were taken. Combined with East Texas humidity makes for a rough day. The finish on the parts is amazing.

Saturday, June 27 - Eddie shot the color on the body.

June 30. The last step in the painting process is the black that is sprayed on the undercarriage and in the engine compartment. Below Perez Simmons puts on the first coat.

First the bottom and then the engine compartment.
