This page features the preparation of various parts that will go on to the car once the painting is complete. Many of the members of Mustangs of East Texas were involved with this portion of the restoration.

Below John Pritchard and Eddy Franks restore the rear end and install the rear brakes. They installed the new rear end third member and axles from Currie Enterprises. Then they put new drum brakes on the rear. Baer Brake Systems is furnishing the front disc brakes.

Lindsey Bradley detailed the rear end after the mechanicals were completed. He painted the pumpkin with red oxide primer and repainted the entire housing.  A new emergency brake cable from Scott Drake finished off the rebuild. In the background is an old rear end that needs a restoration.

After detailing the rear end, we found that the lugs may have been too long for the wheels and lug nuts to fit. So Craig Chesley used a pnuematic cut off saw to trim then down to fit. The new wheels and tires are mounted to the rear end.

Below Bob Ground, Jim Jacobs, Les Jeffcoat and Danny Alexander wrestle the car back onto the rotisserie in preparation of priming and block sanding. This is the last step before the painting process begins. The car will be painted in several different sessions. First the undercarriage and engine compartment, then the trunk and interior and then the body, doors, deck lid, hood and fenders. Smaller parts like the headlight buckets, steering column and kick panels will be painted individually.

Just some of the many parts donated by Scott Drake Enterprises.

Below is a one panel of the deluxe "Pony" seat covers that were donated by Distinctive Industries of Commerce, CA. Their donation included the seat upholstery, seat backs, interior quarter panel fabric, seat buns and convertible boot cover. The seat covers are Leather!!!! .

The power steering linkage, control valve and power ram are all detailed and ready to be installed complete with new tie rods.

The grill and fog lights are assembled and ready for installation (minus bulbs).

Quantum Performance provided this beautiful 302 Roller engine with Ford Racing aluminum intake and heads, complete with water pump, fuel pump, chrome oil pan, Petronix distributor and coil. The carburetor was furnished by Randy Ortigo of Ortigo Performance Carburetors and the valve covers are by Scott Drake Enterprises. The valve covers provide a vintage look while providing clearance for roller rockers.
