On Wednesday, July 1, the body is moved from Siler's Paint and Body to Craig Chesley's shop. The car is taken off the rotisserie and placed on a lift for reassembly. The plan was to move the car and begin reassembly on Friday, July 3. The crew was anxious and the assembly began. Eight hours later the car was completely wired, the master cylinder and booster installed, the firewall blanket, windshield wiper motor, fresh air vent. brake pedal assembly, accelerator linkage,  emergency brake assembly, front brake lines, fuel tank and sending unit installed, the solenoid installed and wired, the voltage regulator installed and wired, the amplifier and crossovers installed, the front suspension installed, along with the dash pad, windshield and radio.

Below John Pritchard, Jim Jacobs, Jerry Christopherson and Paul Scott team up to begin assemblying the car. The windshield was donated and installed by Glass Werks of Tyler.

The car is on the lift and ready for completion.

The wiring and pedal assemblys are in place.

The convertible top frame is bolted into place.

The dash pad and radio are installed.

July 3, 4, and 5th were work days for many members of Mustangs of East Texas. We accomplished a lot on the car and did some preparation work for the engine and transmission install. The rear suspension is complete along with the rear brake lines, back up lights, rear valance, high intensity sequential taillights and fuel tank.

The steering column is in  place along with the control panel and main unit of the Old Air Products heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system. Note that the dash pad has been removed. We decided that black would look better on the dash pad, carpet, and seat belts with the parchment interior. The dark red dash pad did not compliment the exterior color.

The wiring, front suspension and front brake lines are complete along with the accelerator linkage, hood hinges, motor frame mounts and battery tray.

The Kicker Performance Audio System is substantially complete and almost ready for testing. The subwoofer will be mounted on the left side of the trunk. Below is the amplifier and the crossovers.

The photo below is the way the motor looked immediately after installation.

The photo below is the way it looked on July 15, 2009. Note the polished air compressor furnished by Old Air Products of Ft. Worth, Texas and the fancy carburetor from Ortigo Racing Carburetors. Quantum Performance supplied the long block and Scott Drake makes the valve covers.

The steering linkage was completed and installed along with an 'eyeball" front end alignment. Then the front wheels and tires were added.

On Saturday, July 18, a crew works to complete the engine for firing. Left to right is Chris Brantley (videographer), Mark Whitt, Jim Jacobs, Robert Owens, Mitch Ardoin and David Hartsell with his back to the photo.

The interior is progressing with the steering wheel, dash pad, sun visors and glove box lid in place. The red seat is temporary. The permanent interior is parchment, the color of the painted areas on the dash with black carpet and seat belts.

Tuesday, July 21 saw the installation of the carpet underlayment and seat belts donated by Ssnake Oyl Products.

Then came the carpet.

Then the rear bumper was added.

Later the shifter bezel and handle were added. July 21 was also the day of the quarter window installation and the passenger side interior quarter panel.
